De Nora, an Italian multinational specializing in electrochemistry and sustainable technologies, has signed collaboration and research agreements with Saudi utility giant Acwa Power and the Saudi Water Authority. The agreements, signed during bilateral meetings between Italy and Saudi Arabia, aim to enhance circular economy initiatives, technological innovation, and energy transition efforts in line with Saudi Arabiaโ€™s Vision 2030.

Under the first agreement, De Nora will partner with Acwa Power to develop advanced technologies for improving water treatment efficiency. Acwa Power, a key player in desalination, energy, and green hydrogen, will focus on optimizing desalination processes and minimizing environmental impact.

The second agreement, signed with the Saudi Water Authority, includes the development of three pilot projects. These projects will explore enhancing chlorine dioxide efficiency for water disinfection, studying PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) treatment, and recovering hydrogen from electrochlorination systems to improve energy efficiency and sustainability.

De Nora CEO Paolo Dellachร  emphasized the significance of these agreements in supporting Saudi Arabiaโ€™s sustainability goals. “We are honored to collaborate with key Saudi entities in achieving Vision 2030,” he stated. “De Nora remains committed to driving global energy transition and green industrial growth through innovative technologies.”
