Tata Power’s Tejaswini Group Leads Mumbai’s Power Distribution with Women-Led Excellence

Tata Power is advancing inclusivity and operational excellence through its women-led Tejaswini Group in the Mumbai distribution division. This all-women team manages critical power utility functions across the Urban Zone of Mumbai Distribution Division.

Covering a 40 sq km area from Andheri to Bandra, the team oversees key locations such as Bandra Kurla Complex, Andheri, Khar, Bandra, Santacruz, and Vile Parle. Their core responsibilities include safety, customer acquisition, network engineering, network maintenance, and customer relations.

To ensure uninterrupted power supply, the Tejaswini Group carries out timely maintenance, proactively identifies potential issues, and ensures swift resolution while adhering to safety protocols. Their efforts have significantly reduced service downtime, improved issue resolution, and enhanced customer experience. The group has also facilitated the acquisition of numerous new consumers, including 88 green power users.

Beyond power distribution, women professionals at Tata Power are leading the EZ Home Automation initiative, transforming energy consumption in Mumbai homes. This initiative has successfully integrated APIs, enabling the installation of automation systems that ensure seamless interoperability across multiple platforms.

Tata Power also operates four all-women Customer Relations Centres in Ghatkopar, Khar, Borivali, and Andheri. These centers, managed entirely by trained women, handle services such as new power connections, billing, and query resolution, ensuring a smooth customer experience.

With women professionals at the forefront of power distribution, customer service, and smart energy solutions, Tata Power continues to foster a more inclusive and sustainable energy future for Mumbai.
