ENGIE Expands in India with New Supply & Energy Management Branch to Boost Renewable Energy Growth

ENGIE, a global leader in low-carbon energy production and management, has strengthened its presence in India by launching a new branch dedicated to Supply & Energy Management activities. This move aligns with ENGIEโ€™s commitment to supporting India’s transition toward a carbon-neutral economy and advancing the renewable energy sector.

Strategic Expansion to Strengthen Energy Market Connections

The newly established unit will integrate ENGIEโ€™s renewable energy assets with Indian customers and markets, providing customized energy solutions across sectors. This initiative is expected to optimize energy procurement, lower costs, and enhance sustainability for businesses.

Speaking on the occasion, Amit Jain, CEO & Country Manager, India, emphasized the significance of this expansion. โ€œWe are proud to strengthen our commitment to Indiaโ€™s energy transition with the inauguration of our Supply and Energy Management business. This will help Indian corporations navigate the evolving power landscape efficiently. Currently, the company operates a 2.3GW solar and wind portfolio and aims to expand its renewable energy capacity in India to 7GW by 2030. Additionally, ENGIE is exploring new technologies, including battery storage and hybrid renewables, to further enhance Indiaโ€™s green energy landscape.
