Canadian Solar and Flow Power Partner to Launch Australia’s First Solar Project with Anti-Hail Technology

Canadian Solar Inc. (NASDAQ: CSIQ) has announced a strategic collaboration with Flow Power, one of Australia’s fastest-growing energy retailers, to deliver the country’s first solar project featuring Canadian Solar’s advanced anti-hail modules. This will also mark the debut of Canadian Solar’s innovative anti-hail technology in Australia. The project, set to be completed in 2025, is located in Coonawarra, South Australia, and will combine solar power generation with a battery energy storage system (BESS), representing a major step forward in Australia’s renewable energy development.

Canadian Solar’s anti-hail technology, developed through rigorous testing, provides enhanced protection for solar panels against extreme weather conditions, including hailstorms. This breakthrough innovation underscores the company’s commitment to offering durable, high-performance renewable energy solutions that can withstand even the harshest environments.

Located in the renowned Coonawarra wine region, this new solar farm will be paired with a DC-coupled BESS. This project marks the beginning of a long-term collaboration between Canadian Solar and Flow Power, with plans to deploy the company’s anti-hail technology at various sites across Australia in the future.
