LONGi Partners with OCADE for Photovoltaic Module Recycling in Colombia

LONGi, a global leader in photovoltaic manufacturing, has entered into a collaboration agreement with OCADE S.A.S., a Colombian company specializing in the full management of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE), to facilitate knowledge transfer in the recycling of photovoltaic modules in Colombia.

The agreement aims to establish a long-term partnership between LONGi and OCADE S.A.S. to enhance the management and recycling of solar modules in Colombia. As part of the collaboration, LONGi will provide OCADE with the necessary resources and training to improve the recycling of solar module components, enabling OCADE to broaden its services for the responsible disposal of decommissioned solar panels.

With the rapid growth of photovoltaic installations in Colombia and the surrounding region, managing photovoltaic waste responsibly has become crucial for minimizing energy waste and reducing environmental impact. This partnership reinforces both companiesโ€™ dedication to sustainability and the circular economy, supporting eco-friendly solutions within the countryโ€™s solar energy sector.

Hugo Fernรกndez, Country Manager for Colombia at LONGiโ€™s Utility Business Group, emphasized that sustainability is a core pillar of the companyโ€™s business vision. He stated that LONGi is dedicated to assisting customers in identifying viable solutions for the end-of-life phase of their photovoltaic projects. He also highlighted that the collaboration with OCADE further reinforces LONGiโ€™s commitment to ensuring that solar energy remains truly sustainable across its entire value chain.
