BluPine Energy Signs 25-Year Deal With SECI For 150 MW Solar And Storage Project In Rajasthan

BluPine Energy, a prominent renewable energy services company in India, has announced the signing of a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) for a 150 MW solar project integrated with an Energy Storage System (ESS). The agreement has been signed through BluPine’s Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV), Solarcraft Power India 17 Private Limited, and is part of SECI’s broader initiative to procure 2,000 MW of power from ISTS-connected solar projects equipped with 1,000 MW/4,000 MWh of energy storage capacity.

The upcoming project will be located in the Bikaner district of Rajasthan and plays a role in advancing India’s national target of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil-based installed energy capacity by 2030. The integration of energy storage is a key step toward improving grid performance and reliability. It aligns with the Ministry of Power’s mandate, effective February 2025, which calls for energy storage solutions to address the challenges of intermittent renewable generation and to support energy supply during peak demand periods.

Neerav Nanavaty, CEO, BluPine Energy, said in a statement, “We are deeply committed to powering India’s decarbonization journey through reliable, round-the-clock renewable energy. The PPA with SECI highlights our ability to pivot with agility as India’s renewable powered grids become resilient. Our 150 MW solar project with integrated energy storage in Rajasthan is designed to deliver firm and dispatchable clean power—addressing intermittency and enhancing grid stability. By integrating cutting-edge solar technology with advanced storage solutions, we are not only meeting today’s energy demands but also shaping a sustainable energy future for India.”

This solar-plus-storage project was secured through BluPine’s SPV Solarcraft Power India 8 Private Limited as part of SECI’s competitive bidding process under the Request for Selection (RfS No. SECI/C&P/IPP/11/0011/24-25) issued on July 31, 2024. By combining solar generation with advanced storage systems, BluPine Energy aims to deliver cleaner, more stable, and reliable power to the national grid, contributing meaningfully to India’s clean energy transition.
