TotalEnergies ENEOS has commenced the installation of a nearly 28 megawatt-peak (MWp) rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) system at the Samsung Electronics HCMC CE Complex in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. This marks the companyโ€™s largest rooftop solar initiative in the country to date.

As part of a 20-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), TotalEnergies ENEOS will fully finance, install, operate, and maintain the system, which comprises over 45,000 solar PV modules. Once completed, the system is expected to generate more than 40,000 megawatt-hours (MWh) of renewable electricity annuallyโ€”covering around 26% of the facilityโ€™s energy needs and avoiding over 26,000 tons of COโ‚‚ emissions each year.

This partnership supports Samsung Electronics’ commitment to the RE100 initiative, which unites companies working toward 100% renewable electricity. By sourcing green energy through this project, Samsung not only advances its sustainability goals but also promotes environmental awareness among employees and partners, creating a broader positive impact within the local community. Choonki KWON,ย President of Samsung Electronics HCMC CE Complexย said: โ€œWe do not consider this as just an energy project. This is the beginning of a comprehensive transformation phase, where technology serves not only operational efficiency, but also the sustainable development of people and society.โ€
