The renewed MoU supports India’s ambitious goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2070. It encourages the exchange of knowledge and collaboration on clean and sustainable energy technologies. The original MoU was signed on June 5, 2020, and was initially valid until June 5, 2025. However, both countries have decided to renew the agreement early to maintain the continuity of dialogue and joint efforts in energy development.

Under the renewed agreement, the partnership will now include advanced areas such as power system modeling, integration of variable renewable energy, cross-border electricity trading, and the development of electric vehicle charging infrastructure. It also aims to improve collaboration through expert interactions, joint training programs, and study tours.
