Enphase Energy, Inc., a global leader in microinverter-based solar and battery systems, has announced the release of a new software solution that allows homeowners with legacy IQ7โ„ข Microinverter-based systems to expand their solar capacity with the latest IQ8โ„ข Microinverters. The upgrade is now available across North America, Europe, and other key global markets.

This move addresses growing consumer demand for scalable, high-efficiency solar solutions, especially among the more than one million households worldwide currently using IQ7 systems. With this software, users can seamlessly integrate IQ8 Microinvertersโ€”designed to support high-powered solar panelsโ€”while retaining their existing IQยฎ Gateway or IQยฎ Combiner hardware.

Installers across the globe have welcomed the development, citing its simplicity and potential to meet evolving energy needs: โ€œEnphaseโ€™s new expansion capability with the IQ8 Microinverters is a game-changer for us,โ€ said Jeremy White, project manager at Robco Electric in the U.S. โ€œIt allows us to offer our customers a straightforward path to scale their systems as their energy needs grow. We can now deliver more power with fewer headaches, which helps us provide the best service and keeps our business running efficiently.โ€

โ€œHomeowners are increasingly asking for ways to get more out of their existing systems, and the new IQ8 Microinverters make that possible,โ€ said Mauricio Llovera, CEO of INVERSOL in Mexico. โ€œThis solution is a win-win, as it not only benefits our customers but also enables us to take on more projects without the complexity of traditional system upgrades.โ€

โ€œWeโ€™re excited to see Enphase continue to build on its existing product suite, constantly making our lives easier,โ€ added David Monnier, CEO of La Maison des Energies in Switzerland. โ€œThe IQ8 Microinverters provide a seamless integration experience, allowing us to maximize energy output for our customers while maintaining the reliability and quality Enphase is known for.โ€

โ€œThe ability to upgrade existing IQ7 systems with IQ8 Microinverters opens up new opportunities for homeowners in the Netherlands,โ€ noted Jack van der Linden, account manager at Green Guys BV. โ€œWith energy prices fluctuating, our customers want to optimize their solar systems without costly overhauls.โ€
