Washington Approves JinkoSolar’s EAGLE® Preserve As First-Ever Solar Module Stewardship Program

JinkoSolar Holding Co., Ltd., one of the largest and most innovative solar module manufacturers globally, has announced that its takeback and recycling program, EAGLE Preserve, has received formal approval from the Washington State Department of Ecology. This makes EAGLE Preserve the first end-of-life solar module stewardship program to be approved by the state. The program is designed to collect and sustainably recycle used solar panels from commercial, industrial, and utility project sites across Washington.

By offering a complete solution for the responsible disposal of solar modules, the program provides the state’s first turnkey recycling option for solar power customers. EAGLE Preserve will begin operations on July 1 of this year. From that date, other solar manufacturers will also be allowed to join the program and offer similar recycling services to their own customers. This initiative complies with Washington state regulations that have been in place for nearly a decade. Under these rules, any manufacturer selling solar modules in the state must establish or participate in a recycling program that handles the end-of-life processing of all modules sold after July 1, 2017.
