NextEnergy Group has reaffirmed its commitment to climate leadership by announcing it has achieved carbon neutrality for the third year in a row. The milestone is part of the Groupโs broader Climate Transition and Net Zero Plan, which aims to align with โ and exceed โ the latest climate science recommendations and support the goals of the Paris Agreement.
As part of its journey toward net zero carbon emissions, NextEnergy Group has been calculating its Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions annually since 2022, in collaboration with an independent third-party advisor. For the year ending 31 December 2024, the Groupโs total emissions amounted to 333.6 tonnes of COโ equivalent โ a reduction of 147.8 tonnes from the previous year.
The Group has offset all 2024 emissions through verifiable, nature-based carbon offset projects, maintaining its carbon neutral status since 2022. Notably, emissions intensity has declined significantly, falling from 2.26 tCOโe per employee in 2022 to 0.92 tCOโe per employee in 2024, despite continued growth in the workforce.
โWe are proud to continue reducing our emissions while scaling up our business,โ said a company spokesperson. โThis reinforces our belief that business growth and sustainability can go hand in hand.โ NextEnergy Groupโs chosen carbon offsets support nature-based solutions, reflecting its dual focus on clean energy leadership and environmental stewardship.
These projects aim to extend the Groupโs positive environmental impact beyond its operations and contribute to its broader vision for a nature-positive future. Further details on the Groupโs carbon reduction progress are available in the 2024 Sustainability Report, while its long-term nature-positive goals are outlined in the NextEnergy Group Nature Strategy.
