Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), a leading rooftop solar provider and subsidiary of Tata Power, has launched India’s most affordable residential rooftop solar solution in Bhubaneshwar, Odisha under its ‘Ghar Ghar Solar’ campaign. The initiative enables households to adopt solar with minimal upfront costs—starting as low as ₹2,499 for 1 kW—through a consumer-friendly financing model. This approach makes solar adoption financially viable for a broader segment of the population, transforming clean energy from a distant goal into an accessible reality.

The initiative is further bolstered by central and state subsidies under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana and Odisha state programs, providing up to ₹78,000 and ₹60,000 in support respectively. These subsidies can cover nearly 40% of installation costs, dramatically lowering the financial barrier for consumers. As a result, rooftop solar adoption has surged in Odisha, with TPREL’s residential customer base growing more than fourfold and FY25 alone seeing a tenfold increase in new sign-ups compared to the previous year, alongside steady growth in the commercial and industrial sector.
