At SNEC 2025, Sungrow Hydrogen and Wison Engineering unveiled their latest innovation in green hydrogen production—the MegaFlex “Plant as a Product.” This turnkey solution marks a major advancement in the renewable energy space by offering a completely modular, fully outdoor system designed to scale from megawatt (MW) to gigawatt (GW) levels. The approach transforms the traditional way hydrogen plants are built, replacing complex, project-based construction with a standardized and repeatable industrial model. By doing so, it addresses key challenges like high costs, long delivery timelines, and site-specific limitations, making green hydrogen production faster, more affordable, and more reliable.

The MegaFlex system integrates all essential components—electrolysis units, power supply, cooling systems, water treatment, and intelligent controls—into a single, compact solution. Built with a modular plug-and-play architecture, it can be rapidly deployed, easily expanded, and replicated across different regions and climates. This setup drastically reduces construction time and on-site labor, minimizing safety risks and enabling a quicker return on investment. Its outdoor design features corrosion-resistant and weatherproof equipment, capable of withstanding harsh environmental conditions such as extreme heat, water ingress, dust, and lightning, ensuring safe and consistent performance even in challenging settings.

Robin Sun , General Manager of Sungrow Hydrogen Product Center, said in a statement, “Where traditional solutions encounter obstacles, we build bridges. Through product upgrades, we have achieved a fully off-site water electrolysis hydrogen production solution with a 15.5% smaller footprint than conventional systems and 11.5% lower total costs (based on 100MW reference cases), incorporating an optimized design for improved maintainability and operational reliability.”

At the core of this innovation lies Sungrow Hydrogen’s advanced water electrolysis technology, which supports flexible and efficient hydrogen production. The entire system is engineered for high reliability and operational efficiency, setting a new benchmark in large-scale green hydrogen deployment. The MegaFlex solution is scheduled for its first real-world application at ACME’s green ammonia project in Oman, where it will be tested under practical conditions to validate its performance and scalability. By combining smart engineering with industrialized production principles, Sungrow and Wison have introduced not just a product, but a new way of thinking about hydrogen infrastructure. The MegaFlex concept signifies a paradigm shift, offering a scalable and cost-effective model for decarbonizing energy systems worldwide.
