Nueva Ecija Governor Aurelio “Oyie” Umali has extended full support to Meralco PowerGen Corporation’s (MGEN) flagship MTerra Solar Project, which is poised to become the world’s largest integrated solar and battery energy storage facility.

The project, developed through MGEN’s renewable energy arm, MGEN Renewable Energy, Inc. (MGreen), spans across Nueva Ecija and Bulacan provinces. It has been officially recognized by the Department of Energy as an Energy Project of National Significance, underscoring its scale and strategic importance to the country’s clean energy goals.

A significant portion of the solar infrastructure will be installed in Nueva Ecija, strengthening the province’s role as a rising clean energy hub in the Philippines.

“The MTerra Solar Project is a symbol of what’s possible when both private and public sectors work together,” said MGreen President and CEO Dennis B. Jordan. “Governor Umali’s instrumental support not only accelerates the progress of this landmark project but also reinforces Nueva Ecija’s contribution to shaping a sustainable energy landscape for the nation.”
