Hindustan Power, one of India’s leading integrated power generation companies, has announced the commencement of its 435 MWp solar power project in Lalitpur, Uttar Pradesh. The announcement was made during the Clean Energy Summit 2025, held at Hotel Hyatt, Gomti Nagar, Lucknow. The summit, themed “Uttar Pradesh – Powering a USD 1 Trillion Economy through Renewable Energy,” was organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Northern Region, in collaboration with the Uttar Pradesh New & Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA).

The Lalitpur solar project marks a major step towards Uttar Pradesh’s ambitious target of achieving 22,000 MW of renewable energy capacity by 2026–27. Awarded by the Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) through a transparent and competitive bidding process in April 2025, the project will contribute clean, reliable electricity to the state for the next 25 years.

Beyond supporting the state’s clean energy goals, the project is expected to bring significant socio-economic benefits, including employment opportunities and local development. With the project office already operational, Hindustan Power is now moving forward with mobilization activities such as site development, workforce engagement, and coordination with key stakeholders.
