The Lalitpur solar project marks a major step towards Uttar Pradesh’s ambitious target of achieving 22,000 MW of renewable energy capacity by 2026–27. Awarded by the Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) through a transparent and competitive bidding process in April 2025, the project will contribute clean, reliable electricity to the state for the next 25 years.

Beyond supporting the state’s clean energy goals, the project is expected to bring significant socio-economic benefits, including employment opportunities and local development. With the project office already operational, Hindustan Power is now moving forward with mobilization activities such as site development, workforce engagement, and coordination with key stakeholders.

Mr. Ratul Puri, Chairman, Hindustan Power, said in a statement, “With the Lalitpur project office now open, our teams are eager to start, and we look forward to working with the local community as we move ahead with this solar initiative. As we move forward, we remain dedicated to delivering reliable, green energy that not only powers homes and businesses but also helps build a cleaner, stronger future for generations to come.”

The Lalitpur project not only reinforces the company’s commitment to timely project delivery and strong collaborations but also plays a key role in supporting India’s ongoing transition to sustainable energy sources.
