Tata Power Reports Strong Q1 FY26 Performance with 6% YoY Growth in Profit

Tata Power, India’s largest vertically integrated power company, reported a Profit After Tax (PAT) of ₹1,262 crore for Q1 FY26, marking a 6% year-on-year (YoY) increase. Revenue rose 4% YoY to ₹17,464 crore, while EBITDA saw a strong 17% YoY growth, reaching ₹3,930 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2025.

In Q1, Tata Power commissioned 652 MW of projects—94 MW from its own portfolio and 560 MW for third-party EPC clients. Its total utility-scale operational capacity now stands at 5.6 GW. This includes 4.6 GW of solar and 1 GW of wind. There are plans to add 1.6 GW over the next three quarters. Dr. Praveer Sinha, CEO and Managing Director, Tata Powersaid, “We have commenced FY26 on a high note, with strong performance across all our business verticals. Our renewable energy portfolio continues to exceed expectations, as we drive innovation, scale, and efficiency across the clean energy value chain.

Our Generation and T&D businesses are delivering impressive gains. Our Discoms are providing reliable electricity to ~13 million customers. Through its all-round performance, our Odisha Discoms have emerged as the national model of Discom reforms. In-line with our target to reach 40 million customers by 2030, we have applied for license to expand our distribution footprints in key growth areas of Maharashtra.

The company achieved a record rooftop solar installation of 270 MWp in Q1 FY26, taking total rooftop deployments to over 2 lakh with a cumulative capacity of 3.4 GWp. It also sold 107 MW of solar modules and 54 MW of cells to third parties, generating orders worth ₹1,303 crore.

Key strategic collaborations and project highlights include:

  • A 131 MW wind-solar hybrid project with Tata Motors across Maharashtra and Gujarat, expected to generate ~300 MUs annually and offset 2 lakh tons of CO₂.
  • A Letter of Award from SJVN for an 88 MW Round-the-Clock renewable project under FDRE-3, targeting ~580 MUs/year and ~4.9 lakh tons of CO₂ offset.
  • A 200 MW Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy PPA signed with NTPC to supply ~1,300 MUs annually, offsetting ~1 million tons of CO₂.
  • Group Captive PDA with Fiat India Automobiles for a 12.62 MWp project in Akola, expected to generate ~20.63 MUs annually.
  • A 6 MW PDA signed with Tata Realty and Infrastructure Ltd. for ongoing and future developments.
