AIIB Invests INR 13,012.5 Million in Aditya Birla Capital to Accelerate Renewable Energy Financing in India

The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) has subscribed to INR 13,012.5 million in non-convertible debentures issued by Aditya Birla Capital, a leading diversified financial institution in India. This investment aims to accelerate financing for renewable energy projects and electric mobility initiatives, supporting Indiaโ€™s broader energy transition and climate goals.

The transaction underscores AIIBโ€™s commitment to mobilizing private capital toward green, inclusive, and resilient infrastructure development. Funds from the investment will directly support clean energy solutions including solar, wind, hydrogen, and energy storage, as well as e-mobility ecosystems covering electric vehicles, batteries, and charging infrastructure. Additionally, the partnership will promote ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) enhancements by aligning Aditya Birla Capitalโ€™s practices with AIIBโ€™s Environmental and Social Framework.

The collaboration exemplifies the growing role of development finance institutions working with trusted local partners to drive scalable and long-term impact in emerging markets.

Key members of the AIIB team involved in the project include Asim Rana, Abhijit Sen Gupta, Danni Li, Girish Shukla, Jackie Li, Letian Zhang, Rafael Rashid, Fernanda Molejon, and Wei Zhang. On the Aditya Birla Capital side, Chandramohan Amritkar, Anirudh Muchhal, Pooja Pandey, Radhanshi Khandelwal, and Mamta Kedia played integral roles.
