SECI Earns ‘Excellent’ MNRE MoU Rating with 97.36 Score for Renewable Energy Performance in FY 2024–25

The Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) has received an “Excellent” performance rating under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed with the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) for the financial year 2024–25.

According to the MoU evaluation, SECI achieved a score of 97.36 out of 100, reflecting strong institutional performance and effective execution of its mandated objectives during the year. The assessment covered key parameters including operational efficiency, financial performance, project execution, and adherence to corporate governance standards.

A Navratna Central Public Sector Enterprise, SECI continues to play a pivotal role in implementing India’s renewable energy programmes. As of 31 December 2025, the corporation has awarded more than 76 GW of cumulative renewable energy generation capacity, while the capacity under Power Sale Agreements (PSAs) has crossed 60 GW, underscoring its leadership in the sector.

During FY 2024–25, SECI recorded an 18.48 per cent increase in annual power trading volume, with 50.87 billion units traded. The corporation’s total income for the year exceeded ₹15,000 crore, marking a 16.54 per cent year-on-year growth. SECI also reported a Profit After Tax (PAT) of ₹501.92 crore, registering a 15.11 per cent increase over the previous financial year.

The strong MoU performance highlights SECI’s continued contribution to India’s renewable energy transition through large-scale project implementation, power trading, and financial discipline. Operating under the aegis of MNRE, SECI serves as a nodal agency for the Government of India and remains committed to advancing the country’s clean and sustainable energy goals in line with national policy objectives.
