PowerBank Corporation, a leading North American energy infrastructure developer and asset owner, has secured site control for its 2.8 megawatt Day Hollow solar project in upstate New York, advancing it to the interconnection study phase. The project is expected to qualify under New Yorkโs Value of Distributed Energy Resources (VDER) program, with an estimated first-year average rate of US$0.0971 per kilowatt-hour.
Once permits and financing are in place, Day Hollow will be built as a community solar project, allowing renters, homeowners, and businesses to subscribe and receive bill credits without installing on-site equipment. By delivering clean energy directly to the local grid, the project will provide accessible savings while supporting New Yorkโs clean energy transition.
With more than 100 MW of completed projects and a 1 GW development pipeline, PowerBank brings proven expertise to the initiative. The Day Hollow project contributes to New Yorkโs Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act goal of 6 GW of solar capacity by 2025, reinforcing the stateโs leadership in U.S. community solar deployment.
