The Airports Authority of India has invited online bids for the design, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of a 50-kilowatt rooftop solar power plant at Dimapur Airport in Nagaland. The project has an estimated cost of Rs. 46.5 lakh, excluding GST, and is expected to be completed within four months. The tender was published on September 19, 2025, and is being managed through the Central Public Procurement portal. Interested bidders can download documents and participate in the process online. A pre-bid meeting is scheduled for September 29, 2025, at the office of the Assistant General Manager (Electrical) at Dimapur Airport.
The tender follows a two-envelope system, with technical and financial bids to be submitted separately. The bid submission window opened on September 20, 2025, and will close on October 11, 2025. Technical bids will be opened on October 13, 2025, while the date for opening financial bids will be announced later. A non-refundable processing fee of Rs. 1,180, including GST, and an earnest money deposit of Rs. 1.39 lakh are required to participate. Both payments must be made online through the CPP portal.
Bidders must meet several technical and financial criteria. They are required to show prior experience in solar panel installation contracts, with at least three projects worth Rs. 18.6 lakh each, or two projects worth Rs. 23.25 lakh each, or a single project worth Rs. 37.2 lakh. Completed works from the pre-GST period will be adjusted to match current values. Agencies must also hold valid electrical licenses and possess registrations under EPF and ESI, with an undertaking allowed if the registrations are not available at the time of bidding.
Financially, bidders must show an average annual turnover of at least Rs. 13.95 lakh over the last three financial years and maintain a minimum net worth of Rs. 6.97 lakh, certified by a chartered accountant. Those with continuous losses in the last three years will not qualify. In addition, companies that have been blacklisted, debarred, or have a record of poor performance in past projects will not be considered. Consortium bids are not permitted, and only individual firms are eligible.
The tender documents also emphasize transparency, with conditions set to prevent tampering of downloaded forms or multiple bids from related parties. Any such breach may result in disqualification and debarment from future AAI contracts. For technical assistance, bidders can access the AAI help desk through multiple dedicated numbers and emails, available on working days as well as a 24×7 support line.
The project highlights AAIโs commitment to clean energy and sustainability by installing renewable power sources at airports. Once completed, the solar rooftop plant is expected to contribute to greener operations at Dimapur Airport, reducing dependency on conventional power sources. The initiative is part of a broader effort to align with government policies promoting renewable energy and sustainable infrastructure development.
