Avaada Group, a leading diversified energy conglomerate, marked a major milestone in India’s clean energy journey as Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for the company’s 1,560 MWp Solar plus 2,500 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project at Pugal, Bikaner. On the same occasion, the Prime Minister also inaugurated Avaada’s 200 MW (282 MWp) solar power project at Shri Dungargarh, Bikaner.
The combined investment of over ₹9,200 crore reinforces Rajasthan’s position as a hub for India’s renewable energy sector.
Project Details:
- Shri Dungargarh Solar Project: Spread over 777 acres, this 200 MW (282 MWp) solar project will supply power to Rajasthan’s distribution companies, ensuring cleaner and affordable electricity for local communities. The project uses Avaada Electro’s ALMM-certified, Make in India TOPCon N-Type bifacial solar PV modules, highlighting the focus on domestic manufacturing and advanced technology.
- Pugal Solar + BESS Project: Covering 4,000 acres, the 1,560 MWp solar project integrated with 2,500 MWh of battery storage will deliver solar power beyond daylight hours, enhancing grid reliability and providing firm green power. It also employs Avaada Electro’s ALMM-certified TOPCon N-Type bifacial modules.
Both projects are expected to generate over 1,600 green jobs, reduce more than 20 lakh tons of CO₂ emissions annually, and conserve approximately 600 lakh litres of water per year through robotic cleaning technology.
Statements from Leaders:
- Shri Pralhad Joshi, Union Minister of New & Renewable Energy, said, “The foundation stone of Avaada Group’s 1,560 MWp Solar Project integrated with a 2,500 MWh BESS marks a historic milestone. This project, the largest BESS in India to date, will deliver round-the-clock green power, enhance grid resilience, and set new benchmarks for energy security.”
- Shri Bhajan Lal Sharma, Chief Minister of Rajasthan, remarked, “The MoU signed during Rising Rajasthan has translated into operational projects in less than a year. Avaada’s investment is creating jobs and advancing renewable energy in the state.”
- Mr. Vineet Mittal, Chairman of Avaada Group, stated, “These projects are more than investments in megawatts—they are investments in India’s green future. We are committed to empowering communities, creating livelihoods, and shaping a sustainable, self-reliant nation.”
Avaada has already commissioned 2.2 GW of renewable capacity in Rajasthan, with a total operational portfolio of approximately 5.7 GWp across India.
These projects reinforce Avaada’s commitment to India’s energy independence, decarbonisation goals, and sustainable growth, while delivering socio-economic benefits to local communities in Rajasthan.
