Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), a subsidiary of The Tata Power Company Limited, has signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Tata Power Mumbai Distribution for an 80 MW Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) project.

The project will combine advanced solar, wind, and battery storage technologies to provide reliable energy dispatch during peak hours, enhancing grid stability. Once operational, the clean energy generated will be integrated into Tata Powerโ€™s Mumbai distribution network, delivering low-emission electricity to approximately 8 lakh residential, commercial, and industrial customers.

Expected to be completed within 24 months, the project will generate around 315 million units of electricity annually, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by over 0.25 million tons per year. A key feature is its four-hour peak power supply capability, with at least 90% availability during peak demand hours, supporting Tata Power Mumbai Distributionโ€™s growing energy requirements.

This initiative will also help Tata Power Mumbai Distribution meet its Renewable Purchase Obligation (RPO) under state regulations, further strengthening TPRELโ€™s position as a leader in Indiaโ€™s renewable energy sector and its commitment to a sustainable, resilient energy future.
