Exolar Energy, one of the rapidly emerging solar startups in the Delhi-NCR region, has successfully commissioned a 40 kWp rooftop solar power plant at Baba Haridas Salvas Hospital, Haibatpura, Najafgarh, marking a major step towards sustainable energy adoption in the healthcare sector.

The newly installed solar power system utilizes Vikram Solar TOPCON N-Type Non-DCR panels paired with Havells string inverters, designed to produce over 10,000 units annually. This generation will help the hospital reduce approximately 9.2 metric tons of CO₂ emissions every year—an environmental benefit equivalent to planting over 400 trees annually.

The plant operates under a net-metering arrangement connected to the BSES Rajdhani Power Limited (BRPL) grid, enabling the hospital to earn ₹1 per unit through the Generation-Based Incentive (GBI) program. With an estimated payback period of 4.5 to 5 years, the project ensures both economic and environmental advantages by reducing operational costs while guaranteeing uninterrupted energy for critical healthcare operations.

A spokesperson from Baba Haridas Salvas Hospital expressed satisfaction with the initiative, stating,

Girish Maurya, Project Head at Exolar Energy, emphasized the broader significance of the project, noting,

“Hospitals are essential to India’s sustainability mission. This installation demonstrates that renewable energy is viable not only for industrial or commercial use but also for critical sectors like healthcare.”

The project highlights Exolar Energy’s commitment to delivering clean, cost-effective, and reliable solar energy solutions. As India advances rapidly toward its renewable energy targets, such localized solar initiatives underscore how community-driven innovation can drive the country’s transition to a greener future.
