NTPC Ltd, India’s largest integrated power utility, celebrated its 51st Raising Day, commemorating over five decades of powering India’s growth and leading its transition toward cleaner, sustainable energy.
The celebration took place at NTPC’s Engineering Office Complex (EOC) in Noida, where CMD Shri Gurdeep Singh unfurled the NTPC flag in the presence of Board Directors and senior officials. Employees from power stations across the country joined virtually, reflecting the unity and shared purpose that define the NTPC family.
In his address, Shri Singh highlighted NTPC’s evolution from thermal power to renewables, nuclear, and green hydrogen, reaffirming its role as a key driver of India’s energy transformation. He also released the organizational memory book “Remembering Our Roots,” a coffee table book on NETRA, and announced the young achievers of the NTPC family. The event also featured the virtual inauguration of the “Sangam” guest house at Unchahar, UP, and the “Ujjivan Ayush Kendra” at Kayamkulam, Kerala. Similar celebrations are being held across NTPC locations nationwide.
NTPC currently contributes around one-fourth of India’s power demand with an installed capacity of 84,849 MW and an additional 30.9 GW under construction, including 13.3 GW of renewable energy. The company aims to achieve 60 GW of renewable capacity by 2032, supporting India’s Net Zero ambitions.
