Reliance Power Limited announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Reliance NU Energies Pvt. Ltd., has received the Letter of Award (LOA) for securing 750 MW/3000 MWh capacity — the largest allocation under the 1500 MW/6000 MWh Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) ISTS tender issued by SJVN Limited, a leading Navratna enterprise.
The competitive online auction, oversubscribed by 3.3 times with participation from 14 qualified bidders, marks a major milestone in India’s renewable energy landscape. Reliance NU Energies emerged as the single-largest winner, capturing 50% of the total tender allocation at a competitive tariff of ₹6.74 per kWh.
This project will integrate 900 MWp of solar power with over 3,000 MWh of battery energy storage (BESS), enabling round-the-clock renewable power supply to distribution companies (DISCOMs). It represents a key advancement in delivering firm and dispatchable renewable energy, supporting India’s push for energy transition and decarbonization.
With this achievement, the Reliance Group has consolidated its leadership as India’s largest player in the Solar + BESS segment, boasting a cumulative portfolio exceeding 4 GWp of solar and 6.5 GWh of storage capacity across four major tenders, all secured within just ten months.
Reliance Power stated that the project underscores its long-term commitment to clean energy leadership and sustainable value creation. It aligns with the company’s broader vision to accelerate the nation’s shift toward renewable power and to play a defining role in shaping India’s sustainable energy future.
