India’s SECI–MEA Pact to Roll Out Rooftop Solar Across Government Buildings

The Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) and the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to deploy grid-connected rooftop solar PV power plants across MEA buildings nationwide. The agreement was executed on November 21, 2025, in New Delhi.

Aligned with the PM Surya Ghar Yojana, the collaboration aims to accelerate clean-energy integration within government infrastructure and support India’s broader national solar mission. SECI will serve as the facilitating agency for the installation and implementation of the rooftop solar systems.

The MoU was formally signed by Shri Anand Prakash, Director (Establishment), MEA, and Shri Manas Ranjan Mishra, Deputy General Manager (Solar), SECI, representing their respective organisations.
