Surya Roshni Ltd has announced plans to install solar power plants at its manufacturing units in Kashipur, Uttarakhand, and Malanpur, Madhya Pradesh, as part of its broader sustainability and energy-efficiency strategy.
According to the companyโs disclosure, the two solar installations will together offer a capacity of more than 3 MWp. Surya Roshni has earmarked an investment of โน10.15 crore for deploying the systems across the two sites. The plants are designed to supply a portion of the internal electricity demand at each facility, thereby reducing reliance on grid power and diesel-based backup systems.
The company said the upcoming solar plants are expected to generate approximately 36.5 lakh units of electricity annually once commissioned. This generation capacity is projected to significantly cut operating costs while contributing to the companyโs clean-energy transition.
Managing Director Raju Bista emphasised that the initiative forms an integral part of Surya Roshniโs ongoing operational improvement efforts. He noted that the shift toward renewable power underscores the firmโs long-term sustainability goals and will help strengthen its energy security.
The move aligns with industry-wide efforts by manufacturers to integrate renewable energy into their operations as India accelerates its shift toward greener industrial practices. With these new projects, Surya Roshni aims to reinforce its commitment to responsible manufacturing and reduce its carbon footprint across key production sites.
