The Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA) has released a new awareness poster highlighting the benefits of the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, a central government initiative aimed at promoting rooftop solar adoption across the state.
According to UPNEDA, the scheme enables households to generate their own electricity through rooftop solar systems, helping reduce or completely eliminate dependence on grid power. The agency states that consumers who install rooftop solar panels can potentially save 70–80% on their monthly electricity bills.
The campaign also emphasises the financial incentives offered under the initiative. Eligible households can receive government subsidies of up to ₹1,08,000 to support the cost of rooftop solar installation, making clean energy more affordable and accessible.
