Econergy Renewable Energy , a European Independent Power Producer, has finalized a €40.5 million project-finance agreement with UniCredit Bank to support its 87 MW Oradea solar project located in the Crișana region of north-western Romania.
The Oradea project has been fully grid-connected and generating revenue since August 2025. The newly secured financing will be used in part to refinance existing loans that were utilized during the project’s construction phase.
In line with its strategy to hybridize its solar assets in Romania, Econergy announced plans to integrate a 68 MW Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) at the Oradea site. The storage component represents an estimated investment of €21 million and is projected to deliver approximately €8.4 million in annual revenues and €6.7 million in EBITDA, based on forecasts for the first five full operational years.
This agreement marks Econergy’s second project-finance deal with UniCredit, highlighting the bank’s sustained confidence in the company’s development quality, execution capabilities, and financial management.
