TANGEDCO Invites Bids For 420 MW Solar Power Projects Under REPP Scheme In Tamil Nadu

TANGEDCO has invited bids for the procurement of 420 MW of solar power under the Renewable Energy Solar-based power plant (REPP) scheme through an electronic bidding process. The tender aims to promote the development of small-scale solar power projects with capacities ranging from 1 MW to 2 MW. These projects are open to Renewable Power Generators (RPGs), including individual farmers, groups of farmers, cooperatives, Panchayats, Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), Water User Associations (WUAs), or developers acting on their behalf. The power purchased under this scheme will have a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) of 25 years, ensuring long-term stability for participating generators.

Interested bidders must submit an Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) of Rs. 1 Lakh per MW through a Bank Guarantee as per the format provided in Annexure VI. Additionally, a non-refundable processing fee of Rs. 5,000 per MW or part thereof, plus applicable GST at 18%, is required to be paid via RTGS before the due date, and proof of payment must accompany the bid.

The tender process has been scheduled with key dates to ensure smooth participation. A pre-bid meeting is scheduled for December 5, 2025, at 11:30 AM at the 6th Floor Conference Hall, TANTRANSCO Headquarters, 144, Anna Salai, Chennai-2. Prospective bidders can send pre-bid queries via email by December 7, 2025, and responses to these queries will be uploaded on December 10, 2025.

The last date for submission of the tender document is December 16, 2025, up to 14:00 hrs. Bids submitted after this deadline will be rejected. The opening of the Techno-commercial bid will take place the next day December 17, 2025, at 3:00 PM, at the office of the Chief Engineer/NCES, 10th Floor, Western Wing, NPKRR Maligai, 144, Anna Salai, Chennai-2. If this date falls on a holiday, the tender will be opened on the next working day. The period of validity of the bid must be 180 days from the date of tender opening.
