Shakti Pumps (India) Limited has received a major order from the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited. The company said in a stock exchange filing on December 11, 2025, that it has been issued a Letter of Empanelment by the state utility. This order will involve supplying and installing a very large number of solar-powered water pumping systems across Maharashtra.
According to the information shared, Shakti Pumps will supply 16,025 off-grid DC solar photovoltaic water pumping systems. These pumps will come in different capacities of 3 HP, 5 HP, and 7.5 HP to meet various agricultural needs. The systems will be deployed statewide under the Magel Tyala Saur Krushi Pump Yojana and the PM Kusum B scheme, both aimed at improving solar-based irrigation support for farmers in Maharashtra.
The work includes the design, manufacturing, supply, transportation, installation, testing, and commissioning of all the solar pumping systems. This means Shakti Pumps will be responsible for delivering the project end-to-end, ensuring each unit is ready for use by the farmers. The company highlighted that this order is one of the important achievements in strengthening its renewable energy and agriculture-focused business.
The financial value of the order is also significant. The main work order is valued at ₹407.51 crore, and after adding GST, the total commercial value reaches ₹443.78 crore. This makes the project one of the larger contracts received by Shakti Pumps in recent times and is expected to support its revenue growth in the coming quarters.
The execution timeline set by MSEDCL is strict. Shakti Pumps must complete the entire work within 60 days from the date the Work Order or Notice to Proceed is issued. The company also confirmed that the order is fully domestic and that there is no conflict of interest with its promoters, as neither the promoters nor the promoter group have any link with MSEDCL. It further stated that the order does not fall under related-party transactions.
The announcement, signed by Company Secretary Ravi Patidar, reflects a major business development for Shakti Pumps. It strengthens the company’s presence in the solar pumping segment and supports Maharashtra’s push toward clean energy solutions for agriculture.
