SECI Awards 3.85 MW Rooftop Solar PV Projects Across Indian Educational Institutions

The Solar Energy Corporation of India Ltd. (SECI), a Government of India enterprise, has announced the results for the setting up of 3,850 kW of grid-connected rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) projects under RESCO mode, also referred to as RTSPV-Tranche-I. The projects were floated under RfS No: SECI/C&P/IPP/11/0002/25-26 dated June 25, 2025. These projects form part of SECIโ€™s ongoing efforts to promote clean energy under the โ€œSwachh Bharat Swachh Urjaโ€ initiative and Indiaโ€™s broader commitment to renewable energy adoption.

The projects cover multiple educational and research institutions across India. Notable installations include a 1,000 kW system at the Indian Institute of Technology, Indore, a 240 kW system at Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya, Bhopal, a 700 kW system at Indira Gandhi National Open University, New Delhi, a 150 kW system at Inter University Accelerator Centre, New Delhi, a 760 kW system at the National Institute of Technology, Puducherry, and a 1,000 kW system at the Indian Institute of Management, Shillong.

Following the techno-commercial bid opening, several bidders were shortlisted for each project. The largest project at IIT Indore had 27 bidders, including Alien Energy Private Limited, GH2 Solar Limited, and SunShell Power Ventures Private Limited. IGRMS Bhopal saw 18 bidders, such as Anilka Energy Private Limited in consortium with Anand Agro Foods and Mechatronik Renewables Private Limited. IGNOU New Delhi had 18 shortlisted bidders, including APECO Infrastructure India Private Limited and Photoniq Energy. NIT Puducherry had only four bidders, while IIM Shillong had seven, including Ekam Green Ventures LLP and Envio Energy Technologies Private Limited. The IUAC project shared its shortlisted bidders with IGNOU New Delhi.

The financial bid opening revealed competitive tariffs in INR per kWh. Enfros Solutions LLP offered the lowest tariff of INR 3.04/kWh for both IIT Indore and IGRMS Bhopal projects. Other competitive bids included GH2 Solar Limited at INR 3.09/kWh for IIT Indore. For IGNOU New Delhi, Solar Optimised Line Private Limited offered the lowest tariff at INR 3.85/kWh, while Arka Sustainable Energy Solutions submitted the lowest for IUAC at INR 3.89/kWh. Kalpana Construction Company quoted the lowest for NIT Puducherry at INR 3.94/kWh and for IIM Shillong at INR 4.17/kWh.

The competitive bidding demonstrates strong interest and commercial viability in rooftop solar PV projects across India. SECI, an ISO-certified company, continues to drive the adoption of solar energy, supporting sustainable and clean energy initiatives nationwide.
