K2 Infragen Ltd., an engineering and core infrastructure company, has announced that it has received a Letter of Acceptance worth INR 262 crore from Indian Railways. The project involves the design, supply, erection, testing and commissioning of 2x25kV AC traction substations, along with sectioning posts, sub-sectioning posts and SCADA systems for the Luni (including) to Bhildi (excluding) double-line section of the Jodhpur Division under the North Western Railway.
This major contract will support the company in strengthening its position as a reliable and long-term partner in the railway infrastructure sector, particularly through its contribution to power infrastructure development along this important route. The contract has been awarded to K2 Infragen Ltd. in a joint venture with Salasar Techno Engineering Ltd. K2 Infragen will serve as the lead partner in the joint venture, holding a 74 percent share.
Managing Director Pankaj Sharma described the award as a milestone moment for the company. He said that beginning the year 2026 with such a large order marks a significant step in the company’s journey. He added that this project from Indian Railways will help the company advance to the next level, giving it the capability to handle multiple large-scale projects worth over INR 250 crore simultaneously. He also noted that the order strengthens shareholder confidence and supports the company’s ambition to grow into a major infrastructure player in India.
Chief Financial Officer Priyanka Pareek stated that India has been making substantial investments in upgrading its railway and transmission infrastructure. She said this order places K2 Infragen among the leading professionally managed infrastructure companies known for growth and operational efficiency. With the company’s order book now exceeding INR 500 crore alongside strong revenue performance, she expects a disciplined and ambitious growth trajectory ahead.
K2 Infragen has been involved in several major infrastructure projects across the country. The company aims to expand its presence across multiple infrastructure segments, with a particular focus on power transmission and railways over the next two years. It is also active in National Highways Authority of India projects, contributing to important road development works. In the past, the company has played a key role in strengthening water supply infrastructure and improving access to clean drinking water in various regions.
