Ahmedabad-based solar EPC company Zodiac Energy Ltd. has signed an agreement with Amanta Healthcare Ltd. to install a 10.8 MWp captive solar power project in Kheda district, Gujarat, reinforcing the growing adoption of renewable energy by Indiaโs commercial and industrial sector.
The solar project will be developed in Baroda village, Matar taluka, and will supply electricity exclusively for Amanta Healthcareโs captive consumption, enabling the pharmaceutical company to reduce its reliance on conventional grid power and lower energy costs.
According to the agreement, Zodiac Energy will be responsible for the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) of the solar plant. The project aligns with Amanta Healthcareโs sustainability objectives and supports its efforts to integrate clean energy into its operations.
Zodiac Energy, incorporated in 1992 and later transitioned into a public limited company in 2017, has established a strong presence in Indiaโs solar EPC market. The company has executed more than 300 MW of solar projects across rooftop, ground-mounted, and captive segments, serving a diverse portfolio of industrial, commercial, and public-sector clients.
The company clarified that the agreement does not involve any equity participation or promoter-related interest between Zodiac Energy and Amanta Healthcare.
Gujarat continues to emerge as a key market for captive solar installations, driven by favourable policies, strong solar irradiation, and rising power demand from industrial consumers. Projects such as this underscore the increasing role of solar energy in helping Indian companies achieve cost efficiency and sustainability goals.
