NHPC CMD Bhupendra Gupta Unveils 2026 Vision Focused on Clean Energy Expansion, Sustainable Growth, and India’s Energy Security

NHPC Chairman and Managing Director Bhupendra Gupta outlined the company’s vision for 2026 during a special programme held at NHPC’s corporate headquarters in Faridabad on January 1, 2026. The event was attended by NHPC’s Board of Directors, senior officials, and employees.

Among those present were Uttam Lal, Director (Personnel), Sanjay Kumar Singh, Director (Projects), Suprakash Adhikari, Director (Technical), and Mahesh Kumar Sharma, Director (Finance), along with other senior officers and staff members.

Addressing the gathering, Gupta extended New Year greetings to all NHPC employees and highlighted the organisation’s key achievements over the past year. He acknowledged the challenges faced during the period and shared motivational messages, while outlining NHPC’s focus on sustainable growth, innovation, and operational excellence in the year ahead. Gupta reaffirmed NHPC’s commitment to nation-building, clean energy transition, and community development, and emphasised the organisation’s role in strengthening India’s energy security through collective responsibility and dedicated efforts.

Uttam Lal, Director (Personnel), underscored the critical role of human resources in NHPC’s success, highlighting initiatives related to employee welfare, capacity building, and the promotion of a positive, performance-oriented work culture. Sanjay Kumar Singh, Director (Projects), emphasised NHPC’s commitment to timely project execution and strengthening project management systems to support capacity expansion and long-term growth.

Suprakash Adhikari, Director (Technical), spoke on the importance of technological innovation, safety, and quality standards in ensuring efficient and reliable power generation across NHPC’s operations. Mahesh Kumar Sharma, Director (Finance), highlighted the company’s strong financial performance and prudent financial management, reaffirming NHPC’s focus on financial discipline, value creation, and sustainable investments.

The programme also featured a dance drama titled ‘Shri Krishna’, performed by artists from Shri Ram Bharatiya Kala Kendra, New Delhi, which was well received by the audience. The event was webcast live and broadcast across NHPC workplaces through Facebook and YouTube, enabling employees nationwide to participate virtually.
