CATL has inaugurated the Middle East’s first—and currently largest—new energy aftermarket facility outside China with the opening of the NING SERVICE Experience Center in Riyadh. The new hub marks a significant expansion of CATL’s after-sales footprint in the region and reinforces its commitment to supporting the Middle East’s transition toward cleaner, more sustainable energy systems.
The opening aligns closely with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 and similar regional strategies aimed at electrification and decarbonization. Under these initiatives, Saudi Arabia has set an ambitious target to convert 30% of vehicles in Riyadh to electric by 2030, contributing to a broader goal of cutting the city’s emissions by half. Beyond transportation, sustainability policies are accelerating the adoption of electric equipment, such as forklifts, and encouraging the use of renewable energy in agriculture through the Saudi Green Initiative. Despite this momentum, the transition faces notable challenges, including heavy reliance on oil, rapidly rising electricity demand, harsh climate conditions, and gaps in charging and service infrastructure.
Designed to address these barriers, the Riyadh NING SERVICE Experience Center delivers comprehensive, full-lifecycle after-sales support while fostering local technical expertise and accelerating the rollout of advanced electrification and energy storage solutions. Spanning more than 7,000 square meters, the facility integrates exhibition areas, diagnostics and maintenance zones, refurbishment workshops, training facilities, and a customer lounge. It serves both as a regional service hub and as a showcase of CATL’s system-level capabilities across electric mobility, energy storage, and intelligent electrification, while also acting as a platform to connect partners across the industrial ecosystem.
Leveraging CATL’s strong R&D foundation and advanced manufacturing capabilities, the center offers end-to-end services covering battery diagnostics, repair, maintenance, rework, recycling, training, and aftermarket logistics. These services span seven major product categories, from passenger and commercial vehicles to energy storage systems. By reducing downtime, lowering maintenance costs, and extending asset life, the center helps customers improve long-term performance certainty and overall cost efficiency.
The facility also plays a central role in CATL’s localization strategy, supporting talent development and long-term value creation in the Middle East. Through dedicated training programs, CATL contributes to skills development and knowledge transfer across the region. In parallel, the company is strengthening local partnerships to deploy solar-plus-storage solutions, electrify logistics fleets, and expand access to green electricity—jointly driving the large-scale adoption of new energy solutions across the Middle East.
