Bharat Electricity Summit 2026 to Showcase India’s Vision for a Sustainable Power Future

The Bharat Electricity Summit 2026, a global conference-cum-exhibition for the power and electricity sector, will be held from 19 to 22 March 2026 at Yashobhoomi, the Union Ministry of Power announced on Thursday.

The formal announcement was made by Manohar Lal, Union Minister of Power and Housing & Urban Affairs, who also unveiled the official brochure and teaser film for the event.

The four-day summit will be held under the theme “Electrifying Growth. Empowering Sustainability. Connecting Globally”, and is expected to highlight India’s leadership in the global energy transition while addressing emerging challenges and opportunities across the electricity sector.

According to the Ministry, the summit will bring together domestic and international stakeholders from government, industry, academia and civil society to deliberate on the future of electricity systems, facilitate cross-sector dialogue and strengthen global cooperation through strategic partnerships.

Large-scale global participation expected

The event will feature over 50 high-level conference sessions, expert-led panel discussions, thematic pavilions and technology showcases covering the entire electricity and clean energy value chain. It is expected to host more than 500 exhibitors, attract over 25,000 visitors, and see participation from 1,000 delegates and 300 speakers from India and abroad.

The summit will serve as a platform for global policymakers, CEOs, government leaders, regulators, investors, innovators and solution providers to engage on issues spanning power generation, transmission, distribution, energy storage, smart consumption and grid resilience.

A dedicated Buyer–Seller Meet will also be organised to accelerate partnerships and unlock new business opportunities across the global power supply chain, with a focus on mobilising investments and fostering cross-border collaboration to speed up clean electricity deployment.

Platform for innovation and collaboration

Industry participants from power generation, transmission and distribution, battery and energy storage technologies, energy efficiency, energy transition initiatives and startups will have the opportunity to showcase their technologies and solutions at the summit.

Addressing the gathering, the Union Power Minister said the Bharat Electricity Summit 2026 reflects India’s resolve to shape the future of electricity systems. Quoting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he noted that India is entering an era of energy abundance, moving beyond discussions on shortages to focus on managing surplus, ensuring resilience and delivering universal excellence.

The Minister said the summit would not only showcase India’s achievements but also act as a launchpad for future collaboration by bringing technology providers, infrastructure developers, innovators and decision-makers onto a single platform.

The announcement event was attended by senior officials from the Ministry of Power, the Central Electricity Authority, Central Electricity Regulatory Commission, representatives from allied ministries, state governments, foreign embassies and industry bodies including CII, FICCI and ASSOCHAM. Officials from power generation, transmission and distribution companies also joined the event virtually.
