SECI and PTC India Sign MoU to Strengthen Renewable Energy Integration, Power Markets and Battery Storage Deployment

The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) and PTC India Limited on Monday exchanged a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a collaborative framework aimed at strengthening renewable energy integration and power market operations in the country.

The partnership will focus on renewable energy grid integration, power market solutions, battery energy storage systems (BESS), structured power products, and the joint development of large-scale renewable and storage projects. The collaboration is expected to enhance system flexibility, enable seamless integration of renewables and storage, and support market-based mechanisms for efficient power procurement and distribution.

The MoU was exchanged between Shri Akash Tripathi, IAS, Managing Director, SECI, and Dr. Manoj Kumar Jhawar, Chairman and Managing Director, PTC India Limited, in the presence of Shri Sanjay Sharma, Director (Solar), SECI; Shri Joshit Ranjan Sikidar, Director (Finance), SECI; Shri Sivakumar V Vepakomma, Director (Power Systems), SECI, along with senior officials from both organisations.

The agreement was formally signed by Shri Prashant Soni, Deputy General Manager (Project Management), SECI, and Shri Bikram Singh, Executive Director (Marketing), PTC India Limited.

Officials said the strategic collaboration is intended to strengthen Indiaโ€™s renewable energy ecosystem by improving grid reliability, enabling large-scale deployment of energy storage solutions, and facilitating innovative power market products aligned with the countryโ€™s clean energy transition goals.
