SMA Solar Technology AG (SMA) is strengthening its global-to-local strategy by expanding its partnership with Italian manufacturer CEP to enable domestic integration of SMAโ€™s Medium Voltage Power Station (MVPS) solutions in the United States. The move underscores SMAโ€™s commitment to the U.S., one of the fastest-growing markets in the global clean energy transition.

Under the initiative, SMA will manufacture inverters in Germany, which will then be integrated at CEPโ€™s new facility in Little Rock, Arkansas with American-made medium-voltage transformers and monitoring equipment to form complete skids. CEP will also conduct final system testing in the U.S. to ensure quality before delivery. The approach is expected to accelerate project timelines, simplify logistics, and increase U.S.-based content as domestic capacity ramps up.

โ€œThe United States is our most important market and remains one of the fastest-evolving clean energy markets in the world,โ€ said Florian Bechtold, Executive Vice President Large Scale at SMA. โ€œEstablishing local integration capabilities is a strategic step that strengthens our supply chain, supports our customers, and advances clean energy deployment.โ€

SMA and CEP have collaborated for nearly two decades, with CEP serving as SMAโ€™s partner for MVPS integration and logistics. To meet growing U.S. demand and shorten delivery timelines, CEP opened its dedicated Little Rock facility focused on domestic integration.

โ€œCEP is proud to deepen our partnership with SMA as we bring MVPS integration to the United States,โ€ said Mario Melodia, CEO of CEP. โ€œThis investment positions us to support faster delivery, local expertise, and the growing needs of utility-scale projects across the country.โ€

Integration work commenced in January 2026, with a major customer project scheduled for delivery by the end of February 2026. SMA and CEP plan to gradually increase the availability of U.S.-based content as domestic integration capacity scales up.
