The UAE, represented by the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, participated in the โThe Era of the Electrostateโ session during India Energy Week 2026 in Goa, engaging with international energy leaders and experts on the challenges and opportunities of growing global electricity demand.
The session focused on supply chain resilience, smart grid investments, and the need for flexible electricity infrastructure to support sustainable energy transitions.
The UAE delegation was led by Eng. Ahmed Al Kaabi, Assistant Undersecretary for the Electricity, Water, and Future Energy Sector, who underscored the countryโs initiatives to modernise power grids, integrate renewable energy sources, and deploy advanced digital solutions to ensure reliable, accessible, and low-emission energy systems.
โExpanding and modernising electricity grids is a fundamental pillar for strengthening energy security, supporting economic growth, and accelerating the transition to clean energy, particularly amid the rapid growth in global electricity demand,โ Eng. Al Kaabi said.
He also highlighted the Barakah Nuclear Energy Plant as a model for producing clean and reliable electricity, contributing to carbon emission reduction, enhanced grid stability, and supporting the UAEโs goals of climate neutrality and sustainable energy transition.
The UAEโs participation in the session reinforces its commitment to sharing expertise and advancing global discussions on innovative energy infrastructure, renewable integration, and low-carbon solutions.
