InSolare Energy Limited (IEL), a leading renewable energy and net-zero solutions provider in India, has entered into a technology transfer partnership and strategic collaboration with Versogen Inc., a U.S.-based pioneer in Anion Exchange Membrane (AEM) technology. The collaboration aims to jointly develop and commercialize advanced AEM stack and electrolyser solutions for India’s rapidly emerging green hydrogen market.

The partnership marks a significant milestone in InSolare Energy’s long-term strategy to expand into next-generation clean energy technologies and strengthen its presence across the green hydrogen value chain. By leveraging Versogen’s advanced AEM technology and InSolare’s execution capabilities and market reach in India, the collaboration seeks to enable cost-effective and scalable green hydrogen production tailored to domestic requirements.

Under the agreement, InSolare Energy will license Versogen’s AEM stack intellectual property and gain access to its technical know-how, key materials, and design expertise to support stack development and manufacturing in India. Versogen, in turn, will provide its advanced AEM technology, specialized materials, and technical support, enabling the accelerated development of high-performance AEM stacks and electrolysers.

The collaboration is focused on fast-tracking AEM stack development for electrolysers optimized for Indian operating conditions. As part of this initiative, InSolare Energy plans to establish a 250–300 MW AEM electrolyser manufacturing facility in India, with the potential to scale up to 1 GW. The facility is expected to cater to domestic demand while also serving select international markets.

The proposed agreement aligns closely with India’s National Green Hydrogen Mission (NGHM), which aims to position the country as a global hub for green hydrogen production, utilization, and export. By strengthening domestic electrolyser manufacturing and deploying advanced AEM technology, the partnership is expected to contribute to lowering the cost of green hydrogen, developing indigenous electrolyser capabilities, and supporting the government’s target of producing 5 million metric tonnes of green hydrogen annually by 2030.

By combining Versogen’s cutting-edge AEM technology with InSolare’s strong foothold in India’s clean energy sector, the partnership is poised to play a pivotal role in advancing India’s energy transition and building a robust, self-reliant green hydrogen ecosystem under the “Make in India” initiative.
