Recharge Power Wins EPC Contract For Taiwan’s Largest Solar-Plus-Storage Project

Recharge Power Co., Ltd., the energy storage arm of J&V Energy Technology Co., Ltd., has been awarded the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contract for Taiwan’s largest solar-plus-storage project by HEXA Renewables. The project has a combined capacity of 48 MW of solar power and 185.7 MWh of battery energy storage, marking a major milestone in Taiwan’s renewable energy development.

The project is part of HEXA Renewables’ broader strategy to build a diversified portfolio of renewable generation and energy storage integration projects across Taiwan. By selecting Recharge Power for this large-scale assignment, HEXA Renewables has highlighted the company’s experience in executing complex hybrid renewable projects and delivering utility-scale energy storage systems.

Construction of the solar-plus-storage facility is scheduled to begin in the first half of this year. Once operational, the battery storage system will play a key role in supporting the power grid by providing peak shaving and load shifting services. These functions will help manage the variability of solar power generation, improve grid flexibility, and enhance overall system reliability. The project is also expected to support higher levels of solar power penetration while strengthening Taiwan’s grid resilience.

During the construction phase, the project is expected to generate significant EPC revenue for Recharge Power. After completion, it is set to become one of the most important utility-scale solar-plus-storage facilities in Taiwan, further advancing the country’s clean energy transition.

Recharge Power’s management highlighted that the company has strong system integration capabilities backed by solid project management, construction coordination, and quality control experience. The company previously completed Taiwan’s first grid-connected solar-plus-storage project in December 2023, in collaboration with its parent company, J&V Energy Technology. This new project builds on that experience and further strengthens Recharge Power’s position in the energy storage sector.

In addition to solar-plus-storage projects, Recharge Power has been involved in several landmark energy storage developments in Taiwan. These include the country’s first Automatic Frequency Control project, Taipower’s first grid-connected substation energy storage project, and a large-scale 200 MW/335 MWh storage project. Together, these projects demonstrate the company’s ability to deliver end-to-end solutions across different grid and storage applications.
