TotalEnergies has signed two new long-term Power Purchase Agreements with Google to supply 1 GW of solar energy for Googleโs data centers in Texas. Over a period of 15 years, these agreements will deliver around 28 TWh of renewable electricity. The power will be generated from two large solar farms that TotalEnergies is currently developing in Texas: the Wichita project, which has a capacity of 805 MWp, and the Mustang Creek project, which will generate 195 MWp. Construction of both sites is planned to start in the second quarter of 2026.
These new agreements come at a time when the demand for reliable clean energy for artificial intelligence and data center expansion is rising rapidly. The 1 GW contracted with Google adds to the 1.2 GW of gross PPAs recently secured by Clearway, a U.S.-based renewables company that is 50 percent owned by TotalEnergies. Clearwayโs agreements support Googleโs data centers across several major electricity markets, including ERCOT in Texas, PJM in the Northeast, and SPP in the Central region of the United States.
Beyond supplying clean energy, the Wichita and Mustang Creek projects will offer direct economic benefits to the surrounding communities. Several hundred jobs will be created during the construction phase, and once they are operational, the projects will generate long-term tax revenue that helps fund public services and local development throughout their lifespan.
Marc-Antoine Pignon, Vice President of Renewables U.S. at TotalEnergies, said that the company is pleased to sign its largest renewable PPA volume ever in the United States with Google. He explained that this partnership aligns with the companyโs strategy of providing customized renewable solutions that help major digital players achieve their decarbonization objectives. He also noted that these projects help address challenges such as land availability and energy supply for data centers by offering opportunities for large-scale colocation.
Will Conkling, Googleโs Director of Clean Energy and Power, said that as Google continues to expand its infrastructure, strengthening the reliability, affordability, and stability of the local grid remains a priority. He noted that the new agreements with TotalEnergies will add needed generation capacity to the Texas system, increasing the availability of reliable and cost-effective power for the entire region.
TotalEnergies currently operates a gross capacity of 10 GW of onshore solar, wind, and battery storage assets in the U.S. market, including 400 MW located in the PJM region and 5 GW within the ERCOT region in Texas. The new agreements with Google add to a growing list of corporate clean-energy partnerships that TotalEnergies has established with companies such as Airbus, SWM, Data4, STMicroelectronics, Saint-Gobain, Air Liquide, Amazon, LyondellBasell, Merck, Microsoft, Orange, and Sasol. These collaborations demonstrate the companyโs ability to use its diverse renewable portfolio to support the decarbonization efforts of major global industries.
TotalEnergies continues to expand its global electricity ambitions by building a strong portfolio that combines renewable energy such as solar and wind with flexible assets including storage and gas-fired power plants. As of the end of October 2025, the company had installed more than 32 GW of gross renewable electricity generation worldwide. It aims to increase its net electricity production to more than 100 TWh per year by 2030.
