In a significant step to accelerate public-private collaboration for sustainable development, the World Green Economy Organization (WGEO) and the American Chamber of Commerce in Dubai (AmCham Dubai) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during the World Governments Summit (WGS) 2026, held under the theme โShaping Future Governments.โ
The MoU was signed by HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Chairman of WGEO, and Sammy Bousaba, Chairman of AmCham Dubai, in the presence of HE Robert Raines, US Consul General for Dubai and the Northern Emirates, Waleed Bin Salman, Vice Chairman of WGEO, Abdulrahim Sultan, Director General of WGEO, and Cara Nazari, CEO of AmCham Dubai.
The strategic partnership aims to leverage American private-sector expertise and innovation to create tangible business opportunities in priority green economy sectors, while supporting the global transition toward sustainability. The MoU establishes a structured framework to help companies align their solutions with green economy priorities, access emerging markets, and actively participate in the global energy transition.
Under the agreement, WGEO will provide AmCham Dubaiโs member companies access to its Private Sector Platform, enabling American businesses to engage in policy dialogue, align with green economy objectives, and connect with public, financial, and international stakeholders across WGEOโs global network. The initiative is designed to transform corporate expertise into market-driven projects and international partnerships.
In return, AmCham Dubai will participate in WGEOโs International Organizations Platform, facilitating joint contributions to international dialogues and multilateral initiatives. This collaboration will further strengthen AmChamโs role in shaping global green economy policies and enhancing its membersโ engagement in sustainability-driven markets.
Commenting on the partnership, HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer said, โThis collaboration highlights the essential role of cross-sector partnerships in advancing the green economy. Connecting the American business community with WGEOโs global platforms will help accelerate the green transition and generate tangible economic and environmental outcomes.โ
Sammy Bousaba, President of AmCham Dubai, added, โThis MoU establishes a clear pathway for American companies to contribute their expertise and innovation toward green economy priorities. By connecting business capabilities with globally aligned sustainability objectives, we aim to translate shared ambitions into measurable impact.โ
Through this partnership, WGEO and AmCham Dubai will jointly act as a convening bridge, connecting American businesses, key stakeholders, and youth to advance investment opportunities, policy dialogue, and long-term green economy collaboration.
