In a strategic step towards greening critical port infrastructure, the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Mumbai Port Authority to deploy solar power systems across port facilities.
The MoU was signed and exchanged in Mumbai by Shri Manas Ranjan Mishra, Deputy General Manager (DGM), representing SECI, and Shri K. Ramesh, Chief Mechanical Engineer (CME), on behalf of Mumbai Port Authority. The agreement reflects a shared commitment to advancing greener, energy-efficient public infrastructure within India’s maritime sector.
Under the collaboration, solar installations will be integrated across port premises, supporting cleaner operations and reducing reliance on conventional power sources. The initiative aligns with SECI’s broader mandate to accelerate clean energy adoption across diverse sectors, including maritime and logistics infrastructure.
The partnership also contributes to India’s wider sustainability and decarbonisation objectives by promoting renewable energy deployment in high-consumption public assets, reinforcing the government’s push towards low-carbon growth pathways.
