Signal Group, an integrated and modern public affairs firm based in Washington, D.C., has announced the hiring of Eben Burnham-Snyder to help lead and expand its growing energy practice. Eben brings more than 25 years of experience in high-stakes public affairs roles across Congress, the U.S. Senate, a major federal agency, and a Fortune 500 energy company. Over the course of his career, he has developed strategic communications and public affairs programs for cabinet officials, elected leaders, and corporate executives, advising them on some of the most consequential energy issues of the past two decades.

Chelsea Koski, President of Signal Group, noted that Eben’s arrival comes at a pivotal time for the U.S. energy sector, which is navigating rapid change, new opportunities, and an increasingly complex policy environment. She emphasized that his experience building a full public affairs program for a global energy first-mover combined with his prior leadership overseeing communications for a federal agency with more than 100,000 employees demonstrates his ability to manage complex regulatory landscapes, anticipate risks, and deliver strategic results for clients. Koski added that Eben is well-positioned to help guide energy clients through a period of volatility, growth, and transformation.

Eben’s background strengthens Signal’s ability to support clients across renewable energy, electricity transmission, critical mineral supply chains, trade policy, agriculture, conservation, and climate initiatives. As these sectors face shifting political dynamics, evolving stakeholder expectations, and increased media scrutiny, Eben’s insights will help organizations strengthen their positioning, engage with decision-makers, and advance priority issues. He expressed enthusiasm about joining the team, noting that Signal’s strategic approach, talent, and suite of services offer clients the tools they need to navigate challenging public affairs environments and convert uncertainty into opportunity.

His career spans senior positions at Cheniere Energy, the Department of Energy, Senator Edward J. Markey’s office, the House Natural Resources Committee, and the House Select Committee on Energy Independence and Global Warming. Over the years, he has led public affairs campaigns on a wide range of energy, environmental, and national security challenges including major federal efficiency rules, the Iran Nuclear Deal, the BP oil spill, and other landmark policy initiatives. At Cheniere Energy, he built the company’s public affairs and communications function from the ground up as it underwent a major expansion that included more than $50 billion in infrastructure development. He also oversaw the company’s reputational risk management efforts through regulatory disputes, congressional inquiries, international trade conflicts, and geopolitical shifts.

Much of Eben’s leadership in the private sector was shaped by his extensive public-sector experience. As the top public affairs official at the Department of Energy during President Obama’s second term, he advised Secretary Ernest Moniz on national and international energy policy communications. Prior to that, he spent almost a decade on Capitol Hill, serving as a communications and speechwriting advisor to Senator Ed Markey and key Congressional committees, where he played a central role in messaging around the Waxman-Markey climate bill, fuel economy standards, and the federal response to the BP oil spill.

Alongside Eben’s hiring, Signal also announced the addition of Parkash Sehgal as Manager of Analytics and Insights. Park previously spent four years as a Media Analyst at the Environmental Defense Fund and now joins Signal’s expanding in-house data analytics team. This team leads the firm’s newly launched AI Frame platform, a proprietary digital intelligence tool that evaluates how an organization appears across AI models such as ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini. AI Frame provides detailed insights into which messages resonate, which fall short, and how organizations can strengthen their presence using data-driven recommendations and continuous monitoring.
