NTPC Limited, through its renewable energy subsidiary NTPC Renewable Energy Limited, has begun power supply from a 270-MW unit of its solar project in Gujarat, marking another milestone in the development of the large-scale Khavda renewable energy complex.

The newly commissioned capacity is part of the 1,200-MW Khavda-II Solar PV Project, which is being developed by NTPC Green Energy Limited, the companyโ€™s renewable energy platform. According to a regulatory filing, the 270-MW unit has been declared commercially operational from March 11, 2026.

The project is located at the Khavda Renewable Energy Park in Gujarat, one of the worldโ€™s largest renewable energy hubs being developed in the Kutch region. The park is expected to host several gigawatts of solar and wind capacity, playing a significant role in Indiaโ€™s clean energy expansion plans.

With the commissioning of this unit, NTPC continues to scale up its renewable energy portfolio as part of its strategy to transition towards cleaner power generation. The company has been actively expanding solar and wind projects across multiple states to support the countryโ€™s growing demand for green electricity.
