Sandra Dettmer Named COO At RWE Renewables Europe And Australia To Lead Operations And Growth

Sandra Dettmer will take on the role of Chief Operating Officer (COO) on the Management Board of RWE Renewables Europe & Australia GmbH starting April 1. Her appointment is aimed at strengthening the company’s leadership focus as it continues to expand its portfolio of onshore wind, solar, and battery storage projects across Europe and Australia.

In her new position, Dettmer will be responsible for overseeing key operational areas, including engineering, construction, and the operation of renewable energy assets such as wind farms, solar parks, and battery storage systems.

She will also manage Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) functions, ensuring that projects are delivered efficiently and operate safely. Dettmer will join Sopna Sury, CEO of the division, and Simon Bockmühl, CFO, on the management board. She was previously serving as Director of Construction at the same company, where she gained extensive experience managing large-scale renewable energy projects.

Markus Krebber, CEO of RWE AG, praised the appointment, describing Dettmer as a highly experienced energy professional who has grown within the organization. He highlighted her deep understanding of the company’s renewable energy operations in Europe and Australia and expressed confidence in her ability to ensure the safe operation and fast development of new projects.
