Across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), commercial and industrial (C&I) energy users are increasingly adopting solar photovoltaic (PV) systems integrated with battery storage to manage rising energy costs, enhance operational resilience, and reduce carbon emissions.
In markets characterised by high electricity tariffs and time-of-use pricing, the combination of solar and storage is emerging as a practical solution to optimise energy consumption and minimise reliance on grid power during peak tariff periods. Industry stakeholders note that storage systems are becoming a key enabler for improving project economics through peak shaving and tariff optimisation.
For EPC contractors and developers, aligning system design with business priorities such as cost efficiency, reliability, and long-term performance is becoming critical. Additionally, compliance with international standards and the ability to operate effectively in harsh environments—such as high temperatures and dust—are increasingly influencing technology selection in the region.
GoodWe is supporting this transition with an integrated portfolio of hybrid inverters and battery storage systems tailored for commercial applications, enabling improved energy management and more standardised project delivery.
A recent project in Jordan demonstrates the practical benefits of PV and storage integration in the C&I segment. Installed at a desert-based manufacturing facility, the system includes 200 kW of solar capacity paired with 220 kWh of battery storage. The setup utilises GoodWe hybrid inverters and battery units to reduce grid dependency during high-tariff periods while increasing on-site solar self-consumption.
Beyond cost savings, the project reflects a broader shift in MENA’s industrial energy landscape, where reliability, system standardisation, and installation quality are gaining prominence. Integrated PV and storage solutions are also simplifying project execution for EPCs while enabling clearer value propositions for end users.
As solar deployment accelerates across the region, PV plus storage systems are expected to play an increasingly important role in delivering affordable, reliable, and scalable energy solutions for commercial and industrial applications.
